OC LIST
ASTER
30's • 6'6" / 198cm • she/her
universe
elden ring, dnd
backstory
aster is the daughter of minor nobility, who once trained to be part of the royal guard. devastating regional war broke out, however, resulting in her training being cut short, her family being separated, and herself accused of treason. she was imprisoned for some time, eventually busting herself out & vowing to kill the gods whose conflict ruined her & her family's lives.
personality
she is a confident, bold, no-nonsense woman with an imposing physical presence. though well educated, her blunt decision making & merciless combat style can color her as thoughtless or barbaric to others. her intense focus on completing her goals belays a once hedonistic, joy-filled approach to life.
notes
- elden ring is her formational universe & remains her most cohesive, narratively, but i like her dnd design & backstory more.
- in elden ring, she's the child of leyendell royalty -- NOT tarnished. she's a numen & can live a very long time, hence why she still looks so young despite being a permanent inhabitant of the lands between. despite having no desire to take the throne, nor any capability to ( as ordained by the greater will ) she still manages to collect some great runes during her quest for revenge: rykard's, radahn's, and malenia's. it's during her fight with malenia that she dies, as she is inflicted with rot & becomes too ill to carry on ...
- in dnd, she's a goliath barbarian & the daughter of a duke, who owns & maintains a prosperous trade port & city. territory squabbles between some minor demigods of justice, which ravages the city & completely decimates her life & her family's. she goes on a quest to kill the gods & retake her city as its rightful head ... and she does succeed, but the process leaves her feeling cold & empty. she eventually becomes paranoid & overwhelmed by her grief, turns on her party, is felled by them after a long fight ... and then comes back as a revenant as an act of "pity" by one of the major gods who bore witness to her whole thing. she spends this time coming to terms with things & eventually can pass on for good. :^)
- she has a contentious & foil-esque relationship with devyn. the two have very similar histories -- both lost their families as a byproduct of gods meddling in mortal affairs -- but while devyn chooses to acknowledge her feelings & let them go, aster allows hers to fester, turning her miserable & cruel, which ultimately causes her downfall.
- in dnd, her party is herself, devyn, and two other characters belonging to a friend.
BRAN
20's • 4'5" / 134cm • she/her
universe
original
backstory
bran is a magical human born of mysterious circumstances. when found in the woods as a baby, she was taken in & raised by a gruff leatherworker, who trained her in the art of survival. with time, her mentor eventually tired of work, and as she woke one day to a quiet home, she realized with a shock that he had abandoned her & their studio without a word. confused & afraid, bran made the split-second decision to also abandon this place of comfort in favor of living in the forested mountains close by, where the labor of staying alive would keep her mind from wandering too close to introspection.
personality
she is scrappy, crafty, and otherwise self-reliant, following a "path of least resistance" philosophy when it comes to managing inconveniences & problem solving. her nonchalance & easy-going personality means she slots well into most social scenes ... until her bluntness eventually causes ruptures; indeed, she opts for solitude whenever possible, preferring the ease of being alone over navigation emotions.
notes
- her design is still a WIP. i am experimenting with her animal-like features & looking for a fitting blend with her mostly humanoid self, so feel free to experiment a little.
- she has trained hawks as companions; there are several she can command in her home territory, but only two have willingly followed her on her travels.
CARMEN
??? • 10' / 305cm • she/her
universe
original
backstory
carmen is the mysterious curmudgeonly captain of a "courier" vessel -- a type of seafaring ship equipped to transport living & non-living cargo alike across the sprawling, unpredictable waters of arret. her past is a closely guarded secret, eluding even her most trusted crewmates & allies -- despite spending months or years traveling with her, most of them only know her as a seasoned treasure hunter, a begrudging good samaritan, and the most well-known courier in history.
personality
carmen is clever, cheeky, and aloof. despite her blatant magical aura, she is hopelessly preoccupied with seeming "plain" to others. she is frequently sidetracked & almost dismissive of her personal goals, although she seems to take her duties to others seriously, earning her an ultimately favorable opinion amongst her clients & crew. her grizzled exterior belays a gentle heart, which she shares with very few.

CORRINTHE
40's • 6'3" / 190cm • she/her
universe
original
backstory
corrinthe is a spellsword, capable of wielding her own blood as a weapon. as a child, she was raised by a distant father with the intentions of becoming heir & guardian to her family's ancient reliquary: a miraculous but highly dangerous weapon, once used to slay the undead, now housed within the village catacombs, only to be brandished ceremonially. rigorous training is required to wield it safely, though, and in her youthful hubris, corrinthe donned the mighty relic in an attempt to save her village from invasion -- an attempt that failed catastrophically, leaving her home in gruesome ruins.
unable to confront her mistake, she fled, wandering for some time until she eventually ended up as a bodyguard for a bustling city's merchant guild. it's here where she remained for the next several years ... until she was confronted one day by a villager from her homeland, convincing her it was finally time to return.
personality
corrinthe is selfless, dutiful, and brave, with a well-tempered sense of willpower & unwavering endurance -- all skills necessary to wield her particular style of self-destructive magic. although intimidating, she has a rather weak demeanor, appearing passive, apologetic, and indecisive when spoken to. she is a woman of few words & fewer pleasantries, and maintaining relationships of any nature can be difficult for her.
notes
- corrinthe & mina are a pair!! although it takes them quite some time to realize it. corrinthe struggles to accept affection, on top of feeling overwhelmed by mina's nigh-obsession with a false idea of her; as mina comes to terms with the truth & mellows out, though, they slowly begin bonding over shared interests & goals, eventually becoming quite close ...
- corrinthe loses her arm & replaces it with a magical armored one about mid-way through the story. the design of this is still quite the WIP, so feel free to experiment with it if you are opting to draw it.
DEVYN
30's • 6ft / 183cm • she/her
universe
elden ring, dnd
backstory
devyn is an ex-church assassin, whose adventure begins when her parents go missing. she was raised to believe in the old faith by her family, then molded into a deft killer by the sect of new faith worshippers who took her in as a young girl. with time, she began unraveling the mysteries & contradictions between the two scriptures, and after a particular bloody event unfolds, she cuts herself off from faith entirely, disturbed & afraid of the truth of it all. it is only once she meets a certain lunar-aligned individual that she begins to reevaluate who she once was, and who she wants to be now.
personality
devyn is polite, calm, quiet, and observant. her history as a trained killer belays her ultimately peaceful nature, although she is equipped to handle dangerous situations nonetheless. she struggles with feelings of self-loathing, much of which are derived from her relationship with the gods.
notes
- her elden ring story was very foundational to her character, but everything about her dnd story feels better to me, including her design, so that is her canon.
- in dnd, she is a lycanthrope druid & a lurue worshipper who worked with a cult of malar unknowingly; in elden ring, she is a tarnished confessor who believes in the old greattree & conflates it with the erdtree, until she arrives in the lands between. both these realizations lead to her questioning whether her faith & entire life may be a convenient lie, culminating in an uncontrollable episode of violence -- one against the cult of malar ( dnd ), the other against godrick ( elden ring ) -- that leaves her heartbroken, afraid, wholly guilty, and alone. eventually she meets dianthe ( dnd, friend's OC ) or ranni ( elden ring ) who get her thinking about thangs & on the path of self actualization. ( and they are in love, obviously )
- she has a relationship with nearly every ER character i have, as she is the tarnished & eventual elden lord, ie. she is all over the place explorin & such. of note are her relationships with aster -- a rival, whose story foils her own -- and lodovico -- a man who believes himself to be her finger maiden.
- in dnd, her party consists of her, aster, and two other characters belonging to a friend.
FILO
??? • 7'4" / 224cm • he/him
universe
dnd
backstory
filo is a beastman chef. he was raised by a gaggle of old women well-versed in the art of entertainment, who imparted in him a breadth of skills, the least of which was cooking. in the most mundane of tragedies, his cushy life in their abode was brought to an end when they all simply passed of old age -- and thus he had to set off on his own. a rather lonely soul, he sought community wherever he went, bouncing from tavern to tavern as a bard or chef, until he eventually found himself able to settle in the workshop of joanna, a spunky old wizard & an excellent new companion.
personality
filo is optimistic, curious, excitable, deeply social, and caring. his clownish, smart-alecky nature lends him well to being an entertainer, and indeed, he quite relishes the attention; despite this desire for spotlight, however, he is a poor leader, caving under pressure -- he much prefers to follow orders than give them, and is quite cowardly when danger is afoot.
notes
- as a beastman, he ages much more quickly than other races, typically living 30-50 years.
- he is technically a rogue, but he is so utterly helpless in battle, his class may as well just be "guy". he is able to wield a bow for hunting purposes, though he much prefers preparing food over catching it.
- he is best friends with joanna!!!
IOWERTH
??? • 7ft / 213cm • she/he/they
universe
elden ring, dnd
backstory
iowerth is a living statue, mysteriously possessed by the soul of a once-venerated ancient hero. with little understanding of the world or of themselves, they quickly find purpose in protecting a single individual who happens to be close by when they reawaken, driven by a nagging feeling that this is what they were born to do -- whether this purpose is truly why they were brought back for, though, only time will tell.
personality
lacking memories of their past life, they act purely on instinct & a vague sense of divine directive. they are focused, headstrong, selfless, and unashamed. to those they are allied, they are obedient & protective; to others, they are utterly cold. they cannot speak & are very still, making them difficult to read, emotionally -- this doesn't mean they are without feelings, though.
notes
- iowerth's design is the same between dnd or elden ring. i like both stories quite a lot, so i can't decide which is Canon ...
- in elden ring, he is roused by the spread of deathroot, which captures his soul & locks it into one of the various crumbling guardian statues within his tomb. after stumbling around trying to understand who he is, what's going on, why he's here, he is taken in by miquella, who mends his body using unalloyed gold & invites him to the haligtree -- a burdgeoning realm of respite from the oppression of the golden order. thus iowerth finds himself pledged to miquella & the peoples of the haligtree, where he stood vigilant until miquella's quiet disappearance; he now quests to unravel the mysteries surrounding this disappearance.
- in dnd, she was a champion of the raven queen during a particularly historic time: she killed the world's first lich & saved the realm from metaphysical rupture, and was forever immortalized within the astral plane alongside her god upon death. millenia later, when the lich is found "alive" by a humble fishing town pillaging nearby sunken ruins, iowerth's soul is sent back to earth with the directive "protect" ... but the process to bring such an old soul back has its downsides, and even though she was resurrected by a god, her mind was ravaged upon reawakening in the mortal realm. she forgets why she's here & who she was, having only the concept "protect" to guide her, and so she imprints on the now confused & helpless lich -- who has also lost its memories -- and dedicates her new life to keeping it safe.
the raven queen lets this slide, as in the end, iowerth is still Protecting by keeping an eye on the lich ... but she understands things could go south quick. :)
- in dnd, iowerth is a paladin & his party consists of him, the lich, a goblin bard, and a barbarian minotaur. they are so cutes
JOANNA
60's • 5'6" / 168cm • they/she
universe
elden ring, dnd
backstory
joanna is a sculptor & general craftsperson living at the purlieu of a once-bustling magical capitol. in the past, they were a master magical swordsman, once betrothed to royalty & fated for glory. a certain rebellion lead to disaster, though, and they now spend their days humbly mending old magical creatures & artifacts, brought in by collectors, puzzled mages, and any other such enterprising travelers in their small homestead.
personality
they are wise & worldly, offering relaxed, level-headed company to travelers who pass by their workshop. non-judgmental, responsible, and handy, they make an excellent leader & problem-solver. despite their welcoming nature, though, they speak very cryptically of themselves, remaining elusive to all but the most perceptive of guests.
notes
- in elden ring, she was the fiance of a minor carian princess, who she failed to protect during the cuccoo rebellion. in her shame, she fled & spent time wandering, eventually landing in the hidden jarburg. struck by the kindness of the pots & the dilapitated nature of their village, she set up shop & put all her energy into revitalizing their space; the pots were struck by her kindness in return, and they deemed her potentate. she now spends her days making new jars & defending them from poachers ... a grizzly but ultimately rewarding experience.
- in dnd, she was the fiance of a priest of the moon, who dies in a similar fashion to her ER fiance. i am still pondering out the details, but they were working on an artifact that could commune directly with the gods by transporting one to the astral realm. she hangs onto this artifact after her fiance dies, but doesn't really work on it until a certain adventuring party comes seeking something of the same nature. in the meantime, she holds a similar position as in ER where she fixes up magical creatures & constructs that have been abandoned for one reason or another.
- in dnd, she is a bladeslinger wizard.
LODOVICO
20's • 5'9 / 175cm • he/him
universe
elden ring, dnd
backstory
lodovico is an archivist & scribe seeking to rewrite his fate. after a childhood spent emotionally isolated from his peers, he flees the monestary he was raised in & journeys to find a soul mate, certain that if anything will grant him companionship, it will be fate ... even if that fate must be molded by force.
personality
lodovico is driven by his loneliness & desire to behold genuine community. his dower, regimented, tidy personality makes him somewhat unapproachable, made worse by his lack of social experience, but he presses on with passion regardless. though he lacks wisdom, he is highly intelligent with excellent information recall.
notes
- in elden ring, he is part of a secret order that attempts to chronicle the history & culture of the lands between, desperate to hold knowledge safe despite the golden order's insistance that it must be purged. their duty to their task is taken highly seriously, though, which means that many of its members do not have time to forge relationships with each other. sickened by his loneliness, lodovico decides one day to consult all the texts they have on fingermaidens & the two fingers, and then converts himself to one in the dead of night, escaping the order & questing to find "his" tarnished -- someone dedicated to him, that he can dedicate himself to. there's all sorts of drama that goes on in his story, but it culminates with him finding devyn ( a tarnished ) and thinking that they Belong Together, only for them to have a long talk & come out of it convinced that fate is fake & he doesn't need divine permission to change the course of his life, nor should he expect love to come to him effortlessly.
- in dnd, he works for a sect of ioun, chronicaling information with similar intensity to ER. instead of converting to twofingerism, though, he simply abandons the cathedral in favor of questing for a legendary artifact, rumored to let one "rewrite their fate" ... he pursues this with the same goal as ER in mind, in hopes of finding someone who is obligated to love him through metaphysical ties.
- in both these cases, he ends up in a relationship with tove ( friend's OC ), who is a giant demon-like creature also haunted by the idea of fate.

MINA
30's • 5'2 / 157cm • she/her
universe
original
backstory
mina is a scholar of life & death, and an apt magic wielder. she is the daughter of her village elder & a descendant of the people responsible for a legendary undead-slaying artifact, now guarded by the mountaintop peoples. her ancestors, having scorned their creation, split from the group & settled in the lowlands, where they began studying & chronicaling information regarding the undead.
mina had hoped to use this research to eventually find a cure one day, but life proved cruel, and at once her entire village was hit with the undead plague -- save for her. being given a precious mount, a plethora of cultural icons & goods, and then mercifully "exiled" by her grandmother & mentor, mina has now spent a dozen years seeking knowledge elsewhere with the intent of returning home to save her community.
personality
mina is enthusiastic, loyal, generous, and humble. her overbearing positivity can sometimes blur between genuine expression & a means of coping, although in general, she is well-composed & emotionally present. she bears a willingness to see the good in others, meaning she is often forgiving of ill-manners or cruelty; this also means, that despite her emotional intelligence, she can be easily tricked.
notes
- mina & corrinthe are a pair!!! although it takes them time to recognize it. mina has always had an infatuation with corrinthe, ever since their happenstance meeting as kids. this spirals into idolization & obsession as she starts projecting her fears & goals onto corrinthe in her adulthood; though once they actually meet again, mina quickly realizes with how wrong her idea of corrinthe was ... but also how right it was, in a way? just not in the way she had been picturing. with time they find that they have lots in common & get genuinely close as a result. :-)
- she has a chimera mount that is part canine & part ungulate named atropos / popo. he symbolizes the perpetuity of her village & old life, in a way, so when he passes of old age during their adventure, she is stricken with a very intense grief that leaves her rather dysfunctional for a bit there ... it helps her come to terms with reality, though.
- the brown shawl she wears sometimes was once used as a seat / blanket for popo, which she only starts wearing after he passes.
