With little direction after her vicious encounter with Godrick, Devyn eventually finds a path forward with the small band of Carians at Liurnia's northern tip. Their friendliness & clear-sighted goals were a welcome respite, and although she initially did not fully comprehend their true intentions, with time, Devyn found herself wholly dedicated to their cause.
The unceremonious loss of her own family left her pining for connection, and so she bonded closely with Iji, Blaidd, and Ranni; Seluvis, however, was swiftly clocked as untrustworthy & kept a watchful eye on. In particular: she found Iji's company familiar & peaceful; Blaidd's companionable & lively; and Ranni's curious & warm. The tragic fates of this trio were all too like her own, and so, rather than be overcome by misery as she had once before, Devyn now swore to fight for a better future with their memories as her guide.
And in the end, Devyn & Ranni found a level of intimacy within each other that helped bolster her resolve. Her place as the new Lord was a bittersweet one -- saying farewell to world as she had once known it was an indescribable feeling -- but not one that she regret. Indeed, though they were to stay far removed from the realm of life, they found a quiet solace in their new duties, shared.
