this is a free website template for you to use as you see fit. :-) it comes very simply styled as is, but you are more than encouraged to alter the css & make it feel more like you. no credit is necessary, but it is appreciated!

How's This Work?

this is a very standard 5-panel layout designed for people who want information ( such as a header or navigation bar ) repeatedly displayed on multiple pages. by using javascript, you can simply insert the script url into your html pages & edit the script itself when you want to change any of this static info, avoiding the hassle of having to update every single html page you have. the js is very easy to edit, so don't be scared if you don't know js too well!

Editing the Site

below is a zip file which includes the following:

• 2 folders for fonts & images
• style.css & index.html files
• 4 js files: header, footer, left, right

the js files are the aformentioned repeat sections of your site, and are named according to where they appear in the layout. links in "left.js" have been styled in the css specifically for navigation; experiment with the css if these aesthetics are not to your taste!

you can also make folders & copy the js files into those, allowing for different sets of panels to use in different parts of your site. just make sure to update the urls for the scripts in your html files so that they pull the correct set.

styling tip! you can use "trasparent" as a color for backgrounds & borders if you want to further mess with formatting without having to actually mess with the css. you can also set images as the background if you want, say, a banner to fully cover the area of a div ( otherwise there will be a small gap for padding ).

* the "easy edit" layout has gotten rid of custom fonts & replaced every div in the css with a gaudy color. this is so you know what you're editing when you're messing around in the css, if you've never done that before & would like some extra guidance.
