big update: aesthetic polish, new feature implimentation, & more
2023 sept 7
what's new with the site? there's lots to talk about in today's entry! i've been tinkering hard, so i hope you enjoy what i've got done so far. for starters, i cleaned up and unified the site's general aesthetics -- logos, icons, text; you name it, i done it! hopefully the site is more visually pleasing, as well as easier to read and navigate. there's more to do, but this is the direction i'd like to go in, and i'm happy with it so far! what do you think? :D i've added plenty of new pages and features as well. here's a quick overview of what i've been working on:- new game reviews & additional essays + content for pre-existing journal entries;
- finally started work on individual OC profile pages ( still ironing out the details though );
- cleaner presentation of OCs in general on the homepage;
- started a stamps & classic internet buttons collection, with codes for hosting my custom stamps in your own collections as well;
- created a directory of other websites for educational & recreational purposes;
- started working on unique "shrine"-type pages for my interests;
- added a guestbook feature;
- and finally ... added a gacha roller?!
funnily enough, elden ring fulfilled that craving i'd been having a bit ago: i enjoy building characters mechanically and conceptually, but really struggle with real-time roleplay, so TTRPGs are kind of inaccessible to me, even if they sound fun ... so a video game that gives you a quiet protagonist like fromsoft's RPGs to project personality & motivations onto, but gives you a TON of character customization options when it comes to their build, really made me feel the joy of playing dnd again. i'm hoping bg3 will also be able to satisfy this craving of mine, as well!! if not ... well ... guess i'll just have to replay elden ring again ... ( reader's note: she is excited to play elden ring again ) but ... yeah. that's kind of it. i don't do a lot ... i live a boring life ... but that's how i like it. working on this neocities has been a very fun side project for me, so ... here's to the joy of self-indulgent web design; may it someday bring you as much joy as it's bringing me now. til next time!
