ttrpg one-shot pc

friend invited me to join a halloween one-shot for a campaign they run with some other friends. it's a 5e game with a bunch of homebrew stuff, setting is in the percy jackson universe.

we play as kids who are demigod children to the greek pantheon. since i'm joining the team late, i decided to use everyone else's characters to guide mine: i made sure to pick a melee class, since nearly everyone is ranged or squishy, and i went through the list of gods the gm had written up & picked between ones not used by the main cast. i ended up deciding between hermes & aphrodite, and fighter & barbarian ... the idea of a barbarian of aphrodite really compelled me in the end, though, so that's what i've gone with!

wasn't sure what aesthetic i wanted to go with at the start ... was thinking about kitschy halloween or lame scene kid, with some mandatory heart-shaped motifs ... i dialed everything back in the final result, but i think she's still fun. her concept is being driven by the dichotomous nature of greek gods, and in particular, how aphrodite has different aspects that represent love & pleasure as well as death & fear, respectively -- so in general, she ( pearl ) is a very sweet & charming kid, but when she goes barb mode, she's a terror.

gotta workshop her backstory a bit more, but otherwise i'm good to go for the game in a few weeks. still very scared of rp, so pray for meeeee
