aster & devyn

magma sesh drawing of aster & devyn. i was plotting out story beats for these two & imagining their "canonical" contributions to the overarching story of elden ring, and ended up deciding that they'd be temporary party members for a part of it.

aster's character became centered around revenge against the gods, and she was using everything & everyone she could get her hands on to achieve that. this lead to her becoming another ally of ranni's -- through seluvis -- with the intention of killing ranni once she had fallen asleep. in the meantime, her & devyn end up tasked with information gathering, which eventually culminates in the radahn festival, where devyn realizes aster is simply too unwell to be trustworthy & they have a falling out. they have another fight later one, right before the Aster's Ruin arc ... but while they're in a party, um, they get along great? ( obviously no )

aster is boistrous & outwardly confident, using devyn's more quiet & introspective nature as an opportunity to revel in her own self-perceived excellence. is this just a front to make herself feel better, or is she really that stupid? that's for you to decide.
