lance & clair

more pokemon doodles ... something i found fun about my playthrough of these games this time around was the simplicity of personality of the NPCs. it left room to extrapolate & play with ideas, and i ended up being charmed by the potential of these two's relationship.

particularly, clair being unwilling to admit defeat after you earn your badge & then showing instant but begrudging acceptance when lance is mentioned by her relative; it ended up reading to me like she & him have a somewhat contentious rivalry ... but only from her perspective. she's prideful & strong, but seems to like following the rules; it only makes sense that she'd be annoyed at her cousin being the "better" dragon trainer, right?

anyway. i kind of ran with that idea of stubbornness & annoyance for these little drawings.
